Social Responsability

As a global shipping organisation, while providing our services, we are aware our main responsibility is to pay the utmost care to safeguard both the environment and human health and to take all the preventive measures. It is our duty to treat all our relationships with respect, good intentions and understanding, to always obey the laws and ethical rules, to be sensitive to community and the environment. Thus, as a member of Akbasoglu Holding we have enrolled various programmes to ensure these goals are achieved.

Zero Incident Programme

As Transka, we have set our goal towards for a ZERO incident industry. In order to ensure wellbeing of our crew on board and the environment, continuous training programmes have been introduced to all personnel both on shore and on board. Monthly circulated LFI (Lessons from Incidents), quarterly circulated LET (Learning Engagement Tool) and the Resilience programme has been successfully implemented to ensure we are on track.

New Building Programme

We aim to minimise the environmental impact of our work through investment in the latest fuel-efficient vessels. Our fleet expansion aims to meet the highest standards for fuel efficiency and environmental compliance.

Internship Programme

Transka encourages bright young people willing to develop skills and knowledge to work alongside experienced people. For many years, Transka has hosted deck and engine cadets as part of their officer education and training programmes. We accommodate over 20 cadets each year.

Transka Internship Programme has provided numerous paid internship placements. The programme is open to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. For more information about the application process, click here.
